You might have seen Hills’ own Spoken Word Poetry team perform at the Human Rights Assembly in January. Or maybe you were lucky enough to see them compete in the preliminary contest just a few days ago, on March 13th. If you have not yet had the chance to experience the talents of team members Aliyah Jackson, Adakai Robbins, Dylan Taylor, Ifeanyi Uwadia, Laurie Lauriston and Jahkari Gonzalez (pictured above) and Samuel Davis, Natalie Wilson, and Khalil Wallace, then you will have an opportunity to do so when they compete in the LTAB (Louder Than a Bomb) semi-final competition on Saturday, April 6th (exact time and location, TBA).
Louder than a Bomb is the world’s largest youth poetry festival. Teams must be among the top 15 highest scoring teams to advance to the semifinals. The top four teams from that contest will advance to the finals. Spartan Times Online will keep you posted with all the details you need to follow this amazing team as they continue on their poetic journey.
